Little teeth. Big care.

What do children’s appointments include?

Children’s check-ups are calm, short and friendly. We check their teeth, gums and bite, explain what we’re looking at, and keep everything age-appropriate.

We’ll also give advice to parents — from brushing tips to when to expect adult teeth — and help your child feel comfortable and confident about coming in.

If any treatment is needed (like a small filling or fluoride application), we’ll talk through it with you carefully before doing anything.

No pressure, no rush — just calm care

We understand that not every child will sit in the chair straight away. That’s fine. We’re happy to take it slow, build trust over time, and make each visit a little easier than the last. It’s about confidence, not perfection.

What a visit might involve – 3 simple steps

1. Settle in and say hello

We get to know your child, explain what we’re doing, and help them feel at ease in the space.

2. A gentle look around

We check their teeth, gums and bite gently — keeping it quick, kind and light-hearted.

3. Tips and next steps

We give tailored advice based on what we see, and talk to you (and your child) about how to care for their teeth at home.

Questions about children’s dentistry in Leicester?

When should my child first see a dentist?

Ideally by their first birthday — or as soon as their first tooth appears. It helps them get used to the environment early.

That’s completely okay. We take a slow, supportive approach — sometimes just saying hello is enough for the first visit.

Use a soft toothbrush and a tiny smear of children’s toothpaste. We’ll show you the best techniques in person.

We’ll keep an eye on how the teeth and jaws develop — and if needed, we can guide you on when to consider orthodontics.

Absolutely — we always welcome parents in the room, especially for younger children.
